Aladdin, the new musical based on the classic Academy Award®-winning animated film opens at the Prince Edward Theatre on Wednesday 15 June 2016, with previews from Friday 27 May. Brought to theatrical life by a legendary creative team, Disney's Aladdin will sweep you into a breathtaking world of beauty, comedy and magic.
Aladdin features many of the timeless songs from the classic animated film including A Whole New World, Friend Like Me and Arabian Nights, as well as new music written for the stage production.
The London production of Aladdin will star Dean John-Wilson in the title role alongside Jade Ewen as Jasmine in the West End premiere.
Joining Dean and Jade in the Aladdin cast will be Don Gallagher as Jafar, Peter Howe as Iago, Irvine Iqbal as the Sultan, Nathan Amzi as Babkak, Stephen Rahman-Hughes as Kassim and Rachid Sabitri as Omar. As previously announced, Broadway cast member Trevor Dion Nicholas will make his London stage debut as Genie.
Aladdin The Musical UK is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) with a magical score by the legendary Beauty and the Beast composer, Alan Menken. Aladdin features lyrics by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast), Tim Rice (The Lion King) and Chad Beguelin (Elf), who also wrote the book.
Following massive success on Broadway, Disney's musical spectacular Aladdin is set to be the smash hit of the summer in London's West End.
Aladdin opens at the Prince Edward on Wednesday 15 June 2016 for a strictly limited run only until 1st October with previews from Friday 27th May. Aladdin tickets are on general sale for performances up to and including 1 October 2016.
