Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre Outdoors
Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre offers horse riding and pony trekking for all abilities. We are open all year round and are situated in the Lake District National Park approx. half a mile from Silecroft Beach, which has around 5miles of golden sand. Our speciality is beach rides which range from 1 - 3 hours. We also offer 1/2 and full day rides, fell rides, picnic and pub rides and childrens 1/2 and 1 hour rides. We have a minimum age restriction of 4 years, but no upper limit!!
We are ABRS and BHS Approved and all our guides are fully qualified ride leaders and hold their first aid certificates and riding and road safety qualifications. Our horses are sensible, cob types - we have a large selection of coloured cobs!! All are quiet enough for the most nervous of rider but still more than happy to have a good gallop on the beach if the opportunity arises!
All our beach rides are dependant on tide times, and they also get full very quickly in the spring and summer; therefore booking is essential.
