Recently voted amongst the top 50 in Europe and in the top 10 in Britain, the Gardens are a plantsman's paradise and are celebrated for the oldest and finest double herbaceous borders in the country. Praised by international plantsman Roy Lancaster as 'one of the most exciting and unpredictable gardens I know', the Gardens, (which) were created by the same family over successive generations, offers many unique features including the Furlong Walk overlooking the beautiful rolling park, the giant columns of Quercus Ilex, the pleached Lime Avenue and yew topiary.

One of Cheshire's most charming country houses, the Hall and Chapel were built between 1832 and 1845 and are a prized example of the Victorian Jacobean style. The present Hall and Chapel were built by the great-great-grandfather of the Viscount Ashbrook, Rowland Egerton-Warburton. Each of the main rooms is given its own individual character and traditional charm by the elaborate plasterwork, wood panelling, furniture, family portraits and porcelain.

Each room harbours their own secrets from the Emperor's Room, which was home to the future Napoleon III in the winter of 1847-8 through to the many secret cupboards and peepholes. .
