The 98 Acre grounds of the abbey provide a wide range of features throughout the year. The garden at Anglesey Abbey can be attributed to the vision of one man, Huttleston Broughton, 1st Lord Fairhaven. He came to Anglesey Abbey in 1926, when the garden was only a small portion of the land, the rest given over to pasture.

The mill was restored to its current condition in 1982 by the Cambridgeshire Wind and Watermill Society and now grinds corn to produce flour for sale to the public. The mill can be seen working on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month, water levels permitting!

Anglesey is now the home of the 3rd Lord Fairhaven who continues to take an active interest in both house and garden. Our shop offers one of the widest choices of gifts in East Anglia that appeals to adults and children of all ages. We stock a wide range of exclusive National Trust merchandise which cannot be bought anywhere else and a range of quality souvenirs to remind you of your visit to Anglesey Abbey.
