Availability: Seven days a week from May to September. Weather: Canyoning will go ahead in most conditions other than high flood water levels. Duration: Your experience will last for three hours. Please arrive early to allow for time to change. Numbers On Day: There'll be up to eight people taking part, plus an experienced instructor. Spectators: Spectators are welcome but they'll need basic agility and fitness to negotiate the rough off-road track down the hillside that runs beside the gorge. There's also a specific viewing area at the point where participants jump down the waterfalls. Dress Code: Bring extra clothes, swimwear, a towel and a pair of old trainers. Wetsuits and all special equipment will be provided. If you wear glasses, you'll have to either remove them or secure them firmly with elastic. Guidelines: Travelling West on the A827 from Aberfeldy to Kenmore, about a mile before Kenmore village where you come across a narrow bridge over the gorge, turn up the track on your left to the meeting point. Restrictions: Minimum age is 12. Under 18's must be accompanied by participating adult. You don't need any previous experience but you will need to be reasonably fit. Other Info: Basic changing facilities are available, but there are no showers on-site.

To start off with you'll have a safety briefing with your instructor and get kitted out with the right equipment. Then after a short walk to the top of the beautiful Allt' a Bhealaich Gorge, you'll follow the natural water course down through the gorge, descending waterfalls, sliding down natural water flumes, scrambling down gorges and jumping into deep, clear rock pools. In some sections you'll use harnesses and ropes to get down, all safely controlled by your instructor. This is a challenging, exciting and very physical experience and you might get a few bumps along the way, but there's a path running along the length of the canyon, so no part of the descent is compulsory - you can always take the path instead.
