Bodelwyddan Castle and Park is situated in Denbighshire, North Wales. Set in 260 acres of magnificent parkland, the Castle is a partner of the National Portrait Gallery (NPG) and is open to the public most days throughout the year.As well as being an historic house and accredited museum with a free audio tour available. The Castle also boasts large areas of formal garden and natural woodland. An extra-special particular feature is the area of practice trenches dated from the First World War, located in the parkland. The rooms on display show us how a country house may have looked at different times during the 19th Century. The portraits found within the rooms are on loan from the NPG and are displayed to represent a common idea between them: reformers, explorers and thinkers, for example, or by a particular artist.Bodelwyddan Castle and Park is an ideal location for a family day out. Enjoy exploring the adventure playground, garden maze and Victorian toys and games. Have fun with the interactive exhibits in our specially created learning galleries and email yourself a photograph dressed in Victorian costume, based on Victorian photographer Camille Silvys photo-studio.
