Hardline is an American rock band that was formed in 1992Known for their blend of hard rock and melodic metal, they initially gained attention with their debut album Double Eclipse in 1992The band's original lineup featured powerhouse vocalist Johnny Gioeli, guitarist Neal Schon (from Journey), and drummer Deen Castronovo (also from Journey)This star-studded formation contributed to the band’s early success and gave their music a polished, commercial sound
Double Eclipse featured several hits, including the popular songs "Hot Cherie" and "Takin' Me Down," which helped to establish Hardline's reputation as a band capable of delivering catchy, yet hard-hitting rock anthemsThe album's mix of melodic hooks and powerful vocals created a distinctive sound that resonated with fans of both arena rock and melodic metal
However, after the initial success of Double Eclipse, the band faced lineup changes and periods of inactivityDespite this, Johnny Gioeli remained at the forefront of Hardline, and the band continued to release albums, including II (2002), Leaving the End Open (2009), Danger Zone (2012), Life (2016) and Heart Mind and Soul (2021)These albums showed the band's evolution while retaining their signature style of melodic, hard-hitting rock, and Gioeli’s unmistakable voice
