A running festival which offers competitors a choice of 10k, half marathon, marathon and 66k ultra distances on flat
The Ely Tri Club Runfest was created for those who like a choice of distances ranging from 10k to 66kStarting and finishing at the iconic 11th century cathedral, the races take in more of the beautiful historic city of Ely before heading into the Cambridgeshire countrysideMost of the course involves quiet, traffic free paths along the banks of the rivers Great Ouse and Cam and their adjacent fens (there's only one short, gentle climb through Cherry Hill Park in the entire race)Those running the marathon and ultra also get a trip through the Wicken Fen nature reserve, home to more than 9,000 species, including Konik ponies, cattle, birds and rare plantsEntry details, locations, logistics and course information is available at the Ely Tri Club website or Facebook pageThis is a low key, friendly event which welcomes adult runners of all ages and abilitiesWith a few obstacles (steps, stiles, cattle grids etc) along the way, the routes are perhaps better tailored for adventure, fun and stamina rather than PBsBut whatever your pace or goal there'll be plenty of food/drink stations and enthusiastic marshal support throughoutParticipants must be at least 18 years old on the day (20 if you're taking part in the Ultra)We look forward to welcoming you on 13th October!
