Prepare for a magical, family-friendly performance inspired by L. Frank Baum’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
This summer, prepare for a magical promenade performance inspired by Frank L Baum’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Join Dorothy in Munchkinland, within the grounds of South Hill Park, and meet all your favourite characters as they follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Emerald City at The Lexicon.
Meet the Scarecrow, the Tin-Man and the Lion, on a truly enchanting adventure, as Dorothy is swept into a whirlwind quest to defeat the Wicked Witch with the help of the wonderful Wizard of Oz. During their extraordinary journey, they all learn the true meaning of friendship and that there really is ‘no place like home’.
This truly interactive and immersive show – with surprises along the way – is family friendly and suitable for all ages.
Performances run from Thu 17 – Sun 27 Aug 2023 with relaxed performances at 11am on Sat 19 and Sat 26 Aug.
Plus, don’t miss your chance to win magical prizes – just follow our Yellow Brick Road Treasure Hunt at The Lexicon, free of charge to the public.
Explore the visual arts installation, by Peta Jacobs, at the end of the performance. Mirrors, printed prisms and lenticular prints will create playful, colourful, illusory components. With every movement, what you see will change within the installation: shifting reflections, colours and shapes appear and disappear, a rainbow vortex pulses and oscillates.
Begin the adventure in Dorothy’s farm at the front of South Hill Park mansion house.
Join in the fun – dress as your favourite character for your visit to the Land of Oz!
Suitable for all ages Running time approx. 2.5 hours £5 per ticket Maximum 40 people per performance These performances start at South Hill Park and carry on at The Lexicon shopping centre. Transport between South Hill Park and The Lexicon is not included.
