US Celebrate As Bin Laden Killed NEWS
The long time world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden, has been killed.
The Al-Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden, has been killed in an american military operation in Pakistan it has been reported.
Bin Laden has been the world's most wanted man since the horrific September 11th attack which saw the twin towers of the World Trade Centre destroyed with hijacked passenger planes as well as as an attack on the Pentagon in similar fashion. Over 3,000 people died in the atrocity.
Bin Laden had been able to evade all American efforts to locate and kill or capture him for almost a decade, living in secret locations in Afghanistan and Pakistan, from where he continued to issue messages of support to fellow radical Muslims and defiance against the West.
During a press conference US President Barack Obama confirmed that his intelligence services tracked Bin Laden to a compound outside Islamabad, following which he authorised a Special Forces operation. During that operation there was a fire fight during which Bin Laden was killed and his body secured. No Americans were killed during the action.
Although Bin Laden was the spiritual leader of Al-Qaeda and was believed to have masterminded the 9/11 attacks it is not believed that this development will materially affect the threat posed by Al-Qaeda. Both the American and British governments are warning that there will be a likely backlash and all their Embassies around the world have been put on high alert.
