Following months of secrecy and speculation, TH13TEEN, the ultimate rollercoaster at the Alton Towers Resort has been unveiled as the world's first free fall drop coaster. TH13TEEN takes riders on a gruelling journey through The Dark Forest, where they will battle the overwhelming force of the woods through a series of twists and turns, before plummeting into the unknown.
Having been two years in development, ground-breaking technology makes TH13TEEN every ride you could ever dream of in one. Built on an unearthed ancient burial site, riders are taken on an exhilarating adventure, experiencing adrenalin-pumping speeds, rapid reversing and terrific twists as they attempt to escape the clutches of the all-consuming forest. Never before has so much theme park technology been combined in one fantastically thrilling ride.
The 1.2 metre ride manufactured by Intamin features three trains consisting of five ride cars, each holding four people. Reaching speeds of 67 km/hr, TH13TEEN will plunge its guests from 19 metres as they dip and dive through the woods, before experiencing the world's first free fall rollercoaster drop.
Morwenna Angove, Sales and Marketing Director at the Alton Towers Resort, comments, TH13TEEN is a hugely exciting addition to the Alton Towers Resort and demonstrates our commitment to developing the very best thrill attractions in the world. Alton Towers Resort continuously raises the bar in terms of devising ground-breaking names for its attractions, and TH13TEEN is certainly testament to this. Capturing the essence of the ride experience perfectly, it is also the first rollercoaster in the world to be named after a number.
TH13TEEN will push riders' emotions to the limit as fear of the unknown and unexplained ooze from all angles; guests will not want to go alone!
