Pink Floyd: If pigs could fly NEWS
The iconic Pink Floyd pig was again seen floating over the skies of Battersea Power Station to mark the release of the 14 Pink Floyd studio albums.
In 1976 a giant pig was seen floating over the skies of London creating chaos in its path.
The iconic giant helium swine was released over Battersea Power Station in December 1976, for a photo shoot to create the cover of Pink Floyd's album Animals.
Unfortunately the pig broke free during a strong gust of wind; it disappeared from sight, but was soon spotted by airline pilots thirty thousand feet in the air.
The huge inflatable pig then flew through the path of an aircraft. All flights from Heathrow were cancelled as a result and the huge pig disappeared over the English Channel, landing later that evening in a farmer's field in Kent.
This time EMI decided to take precautions and had a marksman on hand to shoot the porker down if it decided to go AWOL!
This publicity stunt was held to mark the release of 14 Pink Floyd studio albums. EMI are set to begin their marketing onslaught with the release of DVD's, Blu-Ray discs, iPhone apps and a new album featuring the best Pink Floyd singles.
