Next James Bond movie expected in three years NEWS
An MGM chief executive has revealed that they hope to release 'James Bond 24' within the next three years. They have also confirmed that they will be announcing the franchise's new director in the near future.
MGM's chief executive Gary Barber told news agency Reuters that they are: 'Very excited about the franchise' and they are looking 'forward to announcing a director soon'.
He added 'We are currently developing the screenplay and working with our partners. We look forward to developing the script soon and signing a director. We are hoping [that] within the next three years, it will be released.'
The film studio have also confirmed that they are already working on the 24th Bond movie, but without Skyfall director Sam Mendes, who will not be returning to direct the new 007 film.
Speaking to Empire, Sam Mendes told them: #quote#It has been a very difficult decision not to accept Michael and Barbara's very generous offer to direct the next bond movie. Directing Skyfall was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and King Lear, that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond.#/quote#
The bookie's favourite for the next James Bond director is Guy Ritchie, London 2012 Olympic Ceremony director has already ruled himself out.
