Liverpool Chester Bike Ride - Get your early bird entry in soon! Time is running

The early bird offer for entry for the Liverpool Chester Bike Ride is coming to an end on the 3rd February.

The annual Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride, which this year is celebrating its 21st anniversary, is happening on the 22nd June and time is running out to get your early bird entry in! Entry figures at the moment are noticeably higher than what they were at this time last year. Pennine Events and Claire House are hoping that 2014 will be the biggest Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride yet, on all of the routes! The date of the event is two weeks earlier than previous years due to the Tour de France, so what better way is there to get yourself in the mood for the Tour than getting on your bike?

With an expected 4,000 riders taking part in this year's event, Claire House Children's Hospice will once again be the charity partner for the event. Claire House provide a sanctuary for children with life threatening or life limiting conditions, and their families, allowing them to forget about the daily routine and simply enjoy themselves.

It is thanks to Merseytravel that the event goes ahead as without their support, the tunnel would not be closed to traffic for the day. The unique aspect of riding through the tunnel makes this such an appealing event and with their help, Pennine Events are able to close the tunnel so participants can enjoy cycling through a traffic free Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel. This is especially beneficial for the Family Tunnel ride, as families with young children can experience the atmospheric cycle through the tunnel to Birkenhead and back again.

With the variety of routes involved there is something for everyone! From the more experienced rider, who can participate in routes up to 100 miles, to the family riders who can take part in the 5 mile, traffic-free, Tunnel Family Challenge. Cyclists can choose from one of seven different routes allowing the whole family to get involved and raise money for charity!

Sophie Jackson from Pennine Events encourages people to enter soon. The price of entry will be changing on the 3rd February, so to benefit from our special early bird prices get your entry in before then!
