During a busy few weeks supporting Team GB the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will also be watching Prince William's cousin Zara Phillips compete in the equestrian events.

Kate Middleton and Prince William will be seen supporting Will's Cousin Zara Phillips when she joins Team GB in the equestrian events during the 2012 Olympic Games.

The wait is almost over as the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games kicks off in just over 48 hours.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a busy few weeks ahead as they cheer on Team GB, in particular William's cousin Zara Phillips, one of Britain's leading equestrians who will be competing against top international riders.

The Queen's Granddaughter Zara will be competing in a number of equestrian challenges during the Olympic Games this month after earning her place at the Badminton Horse Trials in April.

Kate Middleton, who has been seen attending more and more royal events on her own just recently, will be attending a number of Olympic events over the next few weeks which will include some sailing events, the hockey which will be held at the Olympic Park on 4 August and the synchronised swimming competition on 9 August.

The young Royals will be joining Prince Harry, The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as well as a number of Royals, dignitaries and heads of State and Government at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games this Friday.

The Royals will also be taking part in a spectacular ceremony, which is to be held at Buckingham Palace this Friday.

A keen hockey player herself, Kate joins the Olympic Team during a training session.
