BritEvents Top Ten Tips For Glastonbury

With 137,000 people expected, BritEvents brings you our own Top Ten Tips for a safe and enjoyable festival this weekend

Glastonbury is very nearly upon us. This is the 41st year of Glastonbury, how many of those years have we had rain?

Glastonbury is famous for the rain, mud and oh the music! Last years Festival was a glorious occasion with wall to wall sunshine, which was then followed with festival goers suffering from heat exhaustion and sun-stroke.

Looking at the weather for this weekend the Met Office have confirmed that this year may be another mud bath with rain expected for Saturday. Friday looks settled, so get there early and pitch your tent in the dry before the heavens open!

BritEvents.com bring you the top ten useful tips for camping at Festivals this summer. Come rain or shine, you are sure to have a memorable weekend.

1. Loo Rolls. Even with Novelle toilet rolls being handed out to Glastonbury festival goers this year, always add a couple of loo rolls to your bag, along with antibacterial wipes and wet wipes, a must for any festival...don't get caught out!

2. Wellies. A festival fashion accessory, dress them up dress them down, Wellington's now come in all colours and are the festival fashion item, especially for female revellers.

3. A torch. 137,000 people are expected to attend this years Glastonbury Festival, that's rather a lot of tents being pitched! Spare yourself the embarrassment of crawling into someone else's sleeping bag, take a torch and light the way!

4.Refillable water bottle. Although famous for the food and drink stands, a plastic water bottle is very handy. Remember last years festival sunshine and save yourself a trip to A&E..... Keep hydrated drink lots of water, available around the festival site.

5. Money. This may sound silly, but the queues for the cash machines are amazingly long and very slow! In my own experience, I missed a favourite band at V festival just queuing for cash. But, keep it on you at all times, do not leave anything unattended in your tent...It will get taken!

6. A Mobile phone for emergencies. But if you are lucky enough to go with a group of mates, a mobile phone is a must. This enables you to find each other, with 137,000 people, finding friends can be a nightmare. It is also very useful for ringing mates at home that don't have tickets, and letting them hear what they are missing. Most festivals have charging booths so you don't get caught with a dead battery.

7. A hat. Another fashion accessory but for both sexes, a hat will come in useful for the hot weather and perhaps help keep you dry in the wet weather. A must for children though, being in a crowd in the heat is dangerous for children....be safe in the sun!

8. Suncream. Well, you could be lucky! This is another must for children, a dry spray will be best, a rub in cream takes time and becomes very sticky in the heat and crowds. Remember to re-apply throughout the day, another trip to A&E avoided!

9. Plastic bags. Everything you own will be stored in plastic bags throughout the weekend to keep dry and clean. You will even need them to sit on. Picnic rugs with plastic backing are no good, if these get wet they become heavy, hard to dry and more likely to be dumped. Plastic bags are easy to store and easy to take home and dispose of.

10. Clothes. Two complete sets of dry clothes is a good idea. Make sure that each set is packed in a plastic bag or sealed waterproof bag, to keep completely dry, you will be pleased you did! A fleece is a great idea too, the evenings can turn chilly, it's really not fun when you are chilled to the bone!

Have a fab weekend at the legendary Glastonbury festival. But above all else stay safe!
