A BELTER OF A CINDERELLA STORY
EASTWOOD PARK THEATRE, GIFFNOCK, 14th 29th DECEMBER 2016
This December, InsideOut Productions are bringing another of their
HILARIOUS family pantomimes to Eastwood Park Theatre, Giffnock.
From the 14th to the 29th December this year, Eastwood Park Theatre,
Giffnock, will be home to InsideOut Productions family pantomime A Belter of
a Cinderella Story.
InsideOut Productions, who regularly produce musicals (Little Shop of
Horrors; Company; I Will Survive; Girls Night OOT) and cabaret nights all
across Scotland, have been producing the annual pantomime at Eastwood Park
Theatre since 2014. The companys previous pantomimes at the theatre, The
Pure Amazing Wizard of Oz (2014) and Aladdin (2015), were met with
acclaim from audiences and critics alike, performing to sell out crowds and
standing ovations. This year, audiences can expect another classic festive tale
with a twist for all the family to enjoy together! A show full of dazzling
characters, hilarious gags, great music and stunning singing.
This years pantomime stars River City favourite Leah MacRae, alongside
Kirsten Longmuir, Duncan Brown, Alessandro Sanguigni and, returning after
playing the panto baddie last year, Natalie Arle-Toyne.
Leah MacRae (River City; Gary: Tank Commander; The Karen Dunbar
Show) is delighted to be appearing at Eastwood Park Theatre this Christmas,
where she will be coming to the pantomime fresh from appearing in the
spectacular Gary: Tank Commander live shows at Glasgows SSE Hydro and
from filming for her regular role as Ellie McLean in River City. Leah says:
Eastwood Park Theatre is the first stage I ever performed on when I was
about thirteen years old. Returning here to play the Fairy in their pantomime
will be very nostalgic for me. Being a Soothside girl myself, it'll be lovely to be
on the Southside of Glasgow doing pantomime this year so close to home! The
actress, a very well-known face to audiences in Scotland from her prominent TV
roles, has worked with InsideOut Productions many times in the past, both on
the companys smash hit touring musical I Will Survive and on several of their
regular Musical Theatre cabaret nights across the country. This show, however,
marks the first time Leah has appeared in one of the companys pantomimes,
having spent the previous two Christmases appearing in the Pavilion
pantomime, Glasgow. After playing a comedy baddie in panto for the last two
years, I am elated to be returning to the role of Fairy which I enjoy most. Leah
told us. You get to have loads of fun with the audience and also you get to
do...magic! Pantomime is often a child's first visit to the theatre. It's such a joy to
give them that first experience. Watching panto as a child was where I first
started dreaming of being on stage. To think another little girl or boy could be
sitting there watching me, feeling the same way, is just lovely.
Playing the hard done by Cinderella this year is Kirsten Longmuir, who recently
returned from being a lead female vocalist on board the Oceania Marina cruise
ship. Kirsten is thrilled to be doing her first pantomime at Eastwood Park
Theatre, and to be working with such a fantastic cast: I am super excited to be
playing Cinderella this year at Eastwood Park Theatre. Especially alongside
such a talented group of people, including Leah MacRae, my Fairy Godmother! I
laughed endlessly at her character Julie in 'Gary: Tank Commander, so I can
only imagine the laughs we will have during the show! It's always great fun
working with InsideOut Productions and I know we're going to put on a belter
of a show! Glasgow audiences are revered across the world as being some of the
most interactive and involved audiences out there, which is exactly what we
need as a panto cast.
Returning to Eastwood Park Theatre as the panto baddie for the second year
running is Natalie Arle-Toyne (Company; Little Shop of Horrors;
Hairspray). Natalie has been playing panto baddies for a long time now, but
shes especially keen to get back to being wicked in Giffnock this Christmas: I've
been playing the panto baddie for some time, but this is a special year because
Whitney is not only the baddie, she is also THE ugly sister. It's going to fun. I'm
looking forward to playing opposite the lovely Leah MacRae this year. Look out,
Fairy G, I'm coming to get you!
Duncan Brown, appearing in the pantomime as the cool P. Charming, will have
only recently finished touring across Scotland in the highly anticipated
production of The Broons by the time that panto season arrives. Also,
Alessandro Sanguigni will be filling the role of the loveable DJ Buttons.
Tickets are on sale now and are selling fast, as Artistic Director of InsideOut
Productions, Paul Harper-Swan says: Its fantastic to be back at Eastwood
Park Theatre this year with our new pantomime! As always, we have a firstclass
cast and a terrific fun show ready to entertain audiences in Giffnock for
Christmas. Tickets are selling very fast following the success the shows have had
in previous years at the theatre, so get in fast so that you dont miss out!
