Barleylands Farm Zoos
Barleylands Farm Centre is accessed from our large, free car park. Children of all ages can meet and feed our friendly farm animals, ride the mini tractors around the farm and let off steam in the adventure play area.
Come along and visit the chicks in the hatchery, cuddle a rabbit in the bunny barn and feed the ducks and geese on the pond. The Miniature Steam Train runs on summer Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Shady picnic areas can be found in our Spinney Walk or enjoy your picnic in the sunshine at the Adventure Playground, beside Reception, near the Wishing Well or in the Craft Village. Most of our picnic benches are suitable for easy access for wheelchair users. Handwashing facilities are available at the entrance/exit to the farm.
The Agricultural Museum is housed in a new farm building and shows a collection of exhibits and tools from a bygone age, depicting rural life from the 18th Century to the 20th Century. Barleylands has over 1,000 exhibits, which include a pair of Fowler steam ploughing engines, vintage tractors, corn grinding mill, coopers and cobbler's tools, various agricultural, rural and domestic implements. The potato growing and wheat growing displays are particularly interesting.
Would you like to have a special Birthday Party that is a little different? Why not hold your party at the farm?
Not sure where to book your next School Visit? Many schools and groups return year after year to Barleylands to experience our guided tours around the farm and Craft Village.
Coach and car parking is free and the Craft Village and Farm Centre is suitable for easy wheelchair access. Handwashing facilities are available at three points round the farm. The first aid point is in reception.
Barleylands Farm Centre is open from 1st March and will be open every day including Bank Holidays until 31st October. Entrance is £2.50 per person, adult, child or concession.
Throughout the year Special Events are held at the farm so come along and join in the fun! (Additional fee charged at some special events)
