Merseyside Maritime Museum Museums
The Merseyside Maritime Museum tells the history of one of the world's greatest ports and the people who used it. For many it was a gateway to a new life in other countries. For others, its importance to the slave trade had less happy consequences. From slavers to luxury liners, submarine hunters to passenger ferries, discover Liverpool's central role in centuries at sea.
Open daily 10am-5pm (Edmund Gardner 11am-4pm summer only).
Ships & quaysides are closed during the winter. Please check dates with the information desk on telephone 0151 478 4499, international telephone +44 151 478 4499.
All National Museums Liverpool venues will close at 2pm on 24 December and be closed all day 25, 26 December 2004 and 1 January 2005. Please note that the Maritime Archives and Library will close for Christmas and annual stocktaking at 4.30pm on Wednesday 22 December 2004 and reopen at 10.30am on Tuesday 25 January 2005.
