Duncombe Park lies close to the picturesque market town of Helmsley in the heart of rural Yorkshire. Built in 1713 it is set amidst rolling parkland which has been virtually untouched for 280 years and overlooks the River Rye and Helmesley Castle.

Your memorable day in the country includes a detailed guided tour of the house coupled with breathtaking views from the magnificent broadwalks within the eighteenth century green garden.

The family pictures and Lord Feversham's collection of English and Continental furniture are on show and the principal rooms remain a fine example of the type of 'grand interior' popular at the turn of the century.

The early 18th century green gardens of 35 acres (14ha) have been described as ''the supreme masterpiece of the art of the landscape gardener''. Peace and tranquillity reign supreme in this classical English setting - a rare survivor of a style of gardening using the natural landscape.

Half of the 450 acres (182ha) of parkland and gardens became a National Nature Reserve in 1994 to protect the mature hardwood trees which are home to a large number of scarce wood-feeding beetles and the birds which feed on them.

Open also to non-visitors to the house, the licenced Tea Room offers some of the best home baking in the area, seating 55 the tearoom can also be booked for Group Catering and Private Functions.
