Stepping inside Leighton Hall is a step back in time. Although the house is often busy with visitors, it still retains the atmosphere of a family home because every room in the house is used regularly by the Gillow Reynolds family and friends.
As well as landscaped parkland and woodland walks, Leighton is the home of a very pretty 19th century walled garden. This garden is the realm and the passion of Mrs Suzie Gillow Reynolds. Not a lover of structured formality, Mrs Gillow Reynolds has encouraged a garden which has flowers in abundance, rose covered walls, a fragrant herb patch and overflowing herbaceous border.
Leighton Hall is home to a small, but magnificent collection of birds of prey. Some of these amazing birds fly each afternoon for visitors at 3.30 p.m. (School groups can enjoy a lunchtime display). This breathtaking display is greatly enjoyed by visitors, even more so when one of the birds asserts its independence by retreating stubbornly to the Leighton tower or a nearby tree.
